Absolute Batman's Scott Snyder Announces Undiscovered Country Vol. 6 In Trade

When most comic book readers think of Scott Snyder, they usually cannot help but think of Batman. The acclaimed author has established himself as one of the strongest scribes to contribute to the Dark Knight's lore, especially with the success of Absolute Batman.

Of course, the writer's biggest fans also recognize him as a purveyor of some of the best horror comic books in recent memory. One signature title of Snyder's in this regard, Undiscovered Country, recently came to an end, but it has a new, must-have release hitting the shelves soon.

Undiscovered Country Vol. 6: Victory Is Coming To Trade

Anyone who follows Scott Snyder on social media knows how he regularly likes to keep his fans on their toes with fun teases about what he has next in the pipeline. For instance, there was that time in Feb. 2026 when he made a huge deal about how big Absolute Batman #20 was going to be before the Absolute Robins were even merely hinted at.

However, on June 29, 2026, the writer made a perfectly candid announcement regarding one of his most revered efforts outside of the world of DC Comics. He shared a tweet about the upcoming trade release of Undiscovered Country Vol. 6: Victory.

One can sense the profundity that Snyder must be experiencing with this upcoming summer 2026 release, and it is no wonder why. This book is a collection of the final issues of the Image Comics series that he launched back in Nov. 2019 with co-writer Charles Soule and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli, whom he refers to as "Cammo" in the above tweet.

Soule has penned countless titles for publishers ranging from DC (i.e. Swamp Thing) and Marvel (Thunderbolts) to Image (Skullkickers) and Dynamite Entertainment (Pathfinder: Goblins!), but is best known for his work in Star Wars comics that eventually earned him a Creative Consultant position at Lucasfilm. The Italian-born Camuncoli previously worked with Snyder on All-Star Batman and also has titles like Hellblazer and Marvel's Dark Wolverine and The Superior Spider-Man under his belt.

The 36th and seeminly final issue of the series was released in May 2026. Per Snyder's tweet, Undiscovered Country Vol. 6: Victory is now available for pre-order.

Undiscovered Country Is Scott Snyder's Vision Of A Lost America

Not to be confused with the sixth Star Trek movie from 1991, Undiscovered Country is a dystopian horror sci-fi comic book series set in a future in which the United States literally closed itself off from the rest of the world more than a century earlier. As a deadly pandemic threatens the world (eerily mirroring the following year's COVID-19 crisis), an expedition team crosses the border in hopes of finding a cure, only to bear witness to the nightmarish reality of what the "land of the free" has become.

The series introduces horrifying villains, such as the Destiny Man, and twisted reinterpretations of America's most notable cultural achievements that pose a bizarre danger to the protagonists. Undiscovered Country Vol. 6: Victory sees the team struggling to get to the bottom of the former United States' worst and most mysterious threat, Aurora, and prepare for a global invasion.

Undiscovered Country was an instant hit upon debut and is recognized as one of Snyder's boldest, most ambitious, and frightening projects. Yet, his resume is full of plenty more acclaimed chillers, including his and artist Jock's terrifying Wytches series and his collaboration with Stephen King on American Vampire.

Of course, Snyder continues to gain notoriety as the main overseer of DC Comics' mega-popular Absolute Universe. It was recently announced that his own near-revolutionary contribution to the imprint, Absolute Batman, is being adapted into an animated series.

Undiscovered Country Vol. 6: Victory is expected to hit the shelves in Aug. 2026.
