Disney+ subscribers paying for Standard and Premium plans may still see ads before and after movies and TV shows, even though both plans are sold as ad-free. The company’s UK subscriber agreement says every plan “may include promotional content, sponsorships, and advertisements before/after playback of Content and in channels, live/as-live, special events, and any third-party services content.” The policy drew attention after Disney+ users across Europe were asked to accept updated terms. The agreement currently visible to subscribers is dated June 18, 2026. Disney’s definition of ad-free has limits. Standard and Premium subscribers can watch on-demand movies and series “without commercial interruption,” according to the company’s support page. That means Disney+ won’t insert traditional mid-roll ads during those programs, but it can still run promotions and advertisements before or after viewers press play. The language reportedly keeps the platform’s existing approach in place.
