Fantastic Four v1 #212, 1979 - Galactus and the Sphinx prepare for the final battle for Earth. Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Girl and the Thing rapidly age due to an earlier battle with the Skrulls. John Byrne's pencils assert themselves more than in previous issues. His style is more co-equal in rendition, aided by his well-designed layouts and a superb double page spread. Walt Simonson, on the other hand, contributes one of his weakest efforts for Marvel that I've ever seen.
