Marvel Officially Teases Avengers vs. X-Men Ahead of Avengers: Doomsday

X-Men '97 is officially making moves to finally set up what so many fans of the classic X-Men: The Animated Series have always wanted — the ultimate animated showdown between the mutant-inclusive X-Men and their superhero counterpart, the Avengers. In a fun nod, X-Men '97 has provided the X-Men: The Animated Series continuity with its own version of the Avengers, reminiscent of the versions that would appear across Marvel's multiple animated series in the 1990s. Speaking to ComicBook, director and supervising producer Jake Castorena has officially teased that he wants a story featuring these two iconic teams going at it. “I think as fans, we all want that,” he noted — and for many comic fans, that should be considered an understatement.
