Tower of Shadows v1 #3, 1970 - Robbers case the house of a hermetic old sea captain in this early Barry Smith tale. The art is unpolished and rough-hewn, consistent with his other works of the same era. Inkers John Verpoorten and Dan Adkins do their best to add definition and clarity, but are only partially successful. Still, Smith's experimental layouts and unusual viewpoints (see interior page below) are not without merit. Other artists in this bronze age comic include George Tuska and Gene Colan.
