Published Aug 4, 2026, 4:01 PM EDT According to a recent report, Transformers, one of the most popular sci-fi comic series of all time, will soon receive a crossover with another well-loved sci-fi toy and comic book franchise. Skybound Entertainment, an imprint of Image Comics, publishes stories within the expansive Energon Universe, including Transformers. Robert Kirkman's Energon Universe includes titles such as Void Rivals, G.I. Joe, M.A.S.K., Rom, and, of course, Transformers. Since the cartoon and toy line was first released in 1984, the Transformers franchise has been no stranger to teaming up with other famous properties. Some of its most famous collaborations include Marvel, Star Trek, My Little Pony, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Ghostbusters, to name just a few. Now, Micronauts will likely be the next title to join that list. Transformers Might Team Up With The Micronauts In The Energon Universe The Micronauts toys were first created in 1974, based on the Japanese Microman line designed by Takara.
