The official solicit synopsis for Superman/Spider-Man #1 from DC and Marvel Comics reads, "When journalists Clark Kent and Peter Parker find themselves chasing the same story, the conspiracy they uncover could change the world—especially if Brainiac and Doctor Octopus have anything to say about it. (And we bet they do!) Good thing our intrepid newshounds are secretly Superman and the Amazing Spider-Man. To bring this clash of reporters‑turned‑heroes to life, Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez join forces to headline DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1 with an unforgettable lead story."

Among the other stories on offer in Superman/Spider-Man #1 are a tale featuring Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson (by Tom King and Jim Lee), a horrifying encounter between Carnage and Jimmy Olsen (by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber), a battle between Superboy of the Legion of Superheroes and Spider-Man 2099 (by writer-artist Sean Murphy), and a look at what happens when Power Girl and the Punisher cross paths (by Gail Simone and Belén Ortega).

Readers can also look forward to Superboy Prime chasing down and catching up with Spider-Man (in a story by Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere), an exciting race between the staffs of the Daily Planet and Daily Bugle (as told by Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott), and an unexpected encounter between Pa Kent and Peter Parker's Uncle Ben (courtesy of Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval).

Superman/Spider-Man #1 not only follows up on the new crossover anthology format that began with Deadpool/Batman #1 last year and continued in the pages of Batman/Deadpool #1, but it also marks the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the very first DC/Marvel Comics crossover. Specifically, that of Superman vs The Amazing Spider-Man: The Battle of the Century, which was originally published back in March of 1976 and still stands as the very first time that characters from each respective publisher made their way into each other's world.

Superman/Spider-Man #1 goes on sale March 25, 2026 from Marvel Comics.

  • Spider-Man wears his classic red and blue and black symbiote suits in Marvel Comics

Since his first appearance in 1962, Spider-Man has almost always been Marvel Comics' most popular character. Known for his sense of humor and bad luck as well as his selflessness and super-strength, Spider-Man has helmed countless titles over the years, Spider-Man's most prominent comics include The Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, and Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Peter Parker was the original Spider-Man but the Spider-Verse has become an important part of the character's lore in recent years. Multiversal and future Spider-Men include Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Miguel O'Hara and Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This provided the premise for the popular Spider-Verse film trilogy, which makes Miles its primary hero.

Spider-Man is also the basis of several live-action film franchises and numerous animated television series. He is one of the most recognizable characters in the world. While he's changed a lot over the decades, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee gave the world an unforgettable hero when they created Spider-Man.
