Marvel has quietly pulled the plug on Wonder Man just months after Disney said the show would return for a second season, a reversal that will not surprise viewers who felt the series never quite justified the hype. The move also puts an end to one of Marvel’s more talked-about creative swings. Variety reported that the studio dropped the project, and insiders said the writers were never asked to begin a second-season script before being released from their commitments. That suggests the decision came down firmly, not gradually. Disney had originally announced a renewal of Wonder Man in March, just two months after the show premiered. The series did post solid early numbers, landing at No. 1 on Disney+’s U.S. top 10 TV list two days after debut and performing well in 16 overseas markets, according to the report.
