BOOM! Studios' next major Power Rangers series is about to introduce the most unexpected Ranger of all time.
Per ComicBook.com, a brand-new Power Rangers comic book series has just been confirmed by BOOM! Studios and Penguin Random House, and it sounds absolutely Morphinomenal. Written by Kenny Porter and Joey Esposito with art by Alessio Zonno, colors by Raúl Angulo, and letters by Ed Dukeshire, Power Rangers Unlimited is set to offer readers what might be the most expansive Power Rangers story of all time.
As noted by the official solicit synopsis for Power Rangers Unlimited #1 from BOOM! Studios, "This is it, Power Rangers fans! All of your favorite Rangers from every season and every series of the long-running television and comic series will finally be united in ways you’ve never even dreamed!"
The official solicit text continues, "At a mysterious base on the planet Aquitar, a morphinomenal program is taking shape… Under the guidance of the eccentric Operator, the Striking Tiger Unlimited Ranger calls upon Power Rangers from across time and space to form elite teams and battle a rising evil!"
While fans have the official solicit text and creative team information for the first issue of Power Rangers Unlimited, those are about the entirety of the details that have been made available regarding the series. Fortunately, BOOM! Studios has an effectively perfect track record with the franchise, meaning fans have little to worry about, no matter how overwhelming (or potentially unnerving) the premise of Power Rangers Unlimited might sound.
What Else is Next for the Power Rangers Franchise?
Power Rangers Unlimited is just one of several new franchise stories that BOOM! Studios is slated to release this year. On May 2, fans will be able to visit participating comic book stores to pick up their free copy of BOOM! Studios' Comics Giveaway Day 2026: Power Rangers #0, which will feature three stories from three all-star creative teams.
While one of these stories will be a preview of things to come in Power Rangers Unlimited, the others will offer decidedly different reading experiences. The first story in the upcoming anthology issue will see an adult Billy return to the Command Center for the first time in years, not to mention well after the original Mighty Morphin team line-up moved on from their roles as superheroes. The final story in the issue will follow Tommy Oliver through a Last Ronin-esque tale that examines his life as the Last Ranger on Earth.
On top of what is coming in the world of comics, Power Rangers fans are also looking forward to a brand-new live-action take on the franchise, one that will be helmed by none other than Percy Jackson and the Olympians showrunners Dan Shotz and Jonathan E. Steinberg. The pair were announced as the incoming showrunners for Disney's Power Rangers reboot last year, not long after Netflix's plans for the franchise fell through.
Power Rangers Unlimited #1 from BOOM! Studios is currently slated to go on sale on July 1.
