In 2004, Marvel Comics published the transformative Avengers: Disassembled. The storyline surprised many readers at the time, leading to unexpected new team members and catapulting the comics to the top of the charts under the pen of Brian Michael Bendis. In 2026, Marvel is promising something similar with Avengers: Armageddon, a comic book event that will shake the Marvel Universe to its core.
As the Marvel marketing proclaims, “there will be a pre-Armageddon Marvel Universe and a post-Armageddon Marvel Universe”. It all begins with Red Hulk taking over Latveria, Doctor Doom’s homeland, escalating into a situation that will unleash a power that will forever alter the world’s perception of the Avengers. The Marvel Universe may never be the same again.
Discover how this all unfolds in Avengers: Armageddon reading order. This checklist guides you through everything to read in this Marvel event, along with background reading and comics that lead up to it.
Happy reading!
