Black Panther star Letitia Wright just dropped a not-so-subtle hint of how Avengers: Doomsday may take shape once it arrives on the big screen.

Per @QuidVacuo on X, Wright has shared the cover of Black Panther: Doomwar. Written by Reginald Hudlin and Jonathan Maberry, Black Panther: Doomwar was published in 2017, and featured a massive crossover event between Marvel Comics' most powerful teams. Suspiciously enough, the image that Wright allegedly shared featured Doctor Doom as a key character on the comic book's cover, leading some to believe that the actress may be teasing the plot of Avengers: Doomsday.

Per Marvel Comics, the official synopsis of Black Panther: Doomwar reads "as a new Black Panther struggles to hold her country together against a backdrop of betrayal, she is set on a collision course with one of the Marvel Universe's most feared and powerful despots! But when Doctor Doom stands triumphant, war in Wakanda will pit the world's most relentless super villain against a collection of the world's most powerful super heroes. With the mutant Storm's life in the balance, it will take the combined forces of the X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and not one but two Black Panthers to stand against Doom! As T'Challa makes his return to his former kingdom, will Shuri retain her title and throne long enough to once again face Klaw, master of sound?"

What Can Fans Expect From Avengers: Doomsday?

Avengers: Doomsday will be the latest titular Avengers movie since Avengers: Endgame. After Avengers: Endgame concluded the Infinity Saga in 2019, Avengers: Doomsday will continue to flesh out the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it ties old faces and new foes together. This next major multiiversal crossover will also mark Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom.

From what's been known so far, Wright sharing the cover of Black Panther: Doomwar could allude to how Avengers: Doomsday may pan out, or how Avengers: Doomsday may directly influence Black Panther 3. Just as Black Panther: Doomwar calls on a number of different teams or heroes across the Marvel universe, Avengers: Doomsday has promised to incorporate The Fantastic Four, the Wakandans, the Avengers, and the X-Men to a significant degree. It's also presumed that the movie will reveal greater surprises and multiversal matters upon its theatrical debut.

Specific plot details stay under wraps, yet there's hope that the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer gives a generous glance of what's to come — and if Wright was right this entire time.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on Dec. 18., 2026.
