Irish actor Diarmaid Murtagh has been cast in a prominent supporting role in DC Studios' upcoming feature film "Supergirl", further strengthening his growing presence in major international productions.
Murtagh will portray Drom Baxton, the formidable second-in-command of the notorious space pirate crew known as The Brigands. The character operates alongside a ruthless villain faction led by Krem of the Yellow Hills, portrayed by Matthias Schoenaerts, and serves as a key adversarial force within the film's narrative.
Best known for his work in television series including "Vikings", "Outlander", and "The Tourist", Murtagh has built a reputation for intense, physically grounded performances. His role in "Supergirl" places him at the heart of the film's primary conflict, opposite the titular hero.
"Supergirl" stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El and is directed by Craig Gillespie, with a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. The film is based on the critically acclaimed DC Comics limited series "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, and is scheduled for theatrical release on June 26, 2026.
