Sam Fang primarily covers news for CBR, with over a decade of experience writing about entertainment and pop culture and degrees in both journalism and art.

Daredevil's new comics era is shaping up to be one of the character's most exciting runs, and new cover art teased by Jock has already set the bar incredibly high. The series makes its debut this March.

Jock revealed the stunning cover art on X (formerly Twitter), revealing it was made with acrylics, spray paints and ink. In the image, Daredevil poses against a dark background with a hardened expression. On his back, a street map of New York City can be seen. Jock's cover art is the latest reveal for the new Daredevil title, which sees acclaimed writer Stephanie Phillips (Planet She-Hulk) and artist Lee Garbett (Death of Doctor Strange) handling the Man Without Fear's new adventures.

Marvel announced the new series back in November, teasing that it will "redefine Daredevil for a new age" while also calling it perfect for newcomers and longtime fans of Murdock's. The publisher teased that the story will see Matt "going back to school, taking on a new role as a law professor just as a new super villain named Omen emerges with a mysterious vendetta against his superhero alter ego."

The full solicit reads: "YOU CAN BURY THE BODIES, BUT NEVER THE GHOSTS! Hell’s Kitchen is full of secrets — but no secret stays buried for long! As a fearsome new supervillain named Omen has targeted Matt Murdock, it will be his alter-ego Daredevil, who takes the hits! But beware! This mysterious new player isn’t all that they appear — a secret Daredevil will have to learn quickly as he scrambles to settle into a life and status quo we’ve never seen him in before!"

Jock's cover joins an incredible line-up of other variants being released to celebrate the new Daredevil run. Marvel previously announced it will be the second comic to be available in 'True Believers Blind Bags', following Ultimate Endgame #1. These releases give fans the chance to purchase special sealed bags that contain rare variant covers exclusive to the Blind Bags — including ultra-rare one-of-a-king hand drawn sketch covers.

The issue will feature a main cover by series artist Lee Garbett, while each blind bag will have the chance to contain a foil variant by Ryan Stegman, a special 250th Homage Variant by Greg Land, a special Marvel Television variant, as well as several other designs from a handful of Marvel's star artists.

Daredevil Team Promises an 'Authentic' Run with 'Fresh Ideas'

The energy that Jock's breathtaking cover art brings to Daredevil #1 is likely to translate to the page, too. When the new run was announced, the creative team behind the story discussed what it was like working on the iconic character's new run and promised to deliver some surprises for fans. "I'm taking on one of my favorite characters with one of my favorite artists, and together we're exploring Daredevil's noir sensibilities," Phillips teased. “Lee Garbett brings so much style and emotion to every page, and I couldn't ask for a better partner to bring this version of Daredevil to life."

Garbett agreed and added, "We came into the project together with a genuine love of the character and a clear vision for the book. Steph is an incredible writer and has absolutely nailed the tone and heart of Daredevil's world. Every beat feels authentic and DD at its purest, but we’ve got fresh ideas and some big surprises in store!"

Daredevil #1 goes on sale starting on March 25.
