A recent Disney event in Italy revealed the cast of the next Marvel superhero film ahead of the teaser expected later this month. The presentation included a video display featuring many familiar Marvel names, confirming a line-up announced months ago. Among those featured are Chris Hemsworth, Simu Liu, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr., who is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play Doctor Doom.
The footage offered no new story details, but more information could appear soon. With the CCXP convention underway, fans are anticipating the release of the first trailer. Still, the cast announcement has sparked mixed reactions online. Marvel once drew excitement for assembling iconic on-screen teams, but this latest roster feels more like a reshuffle of supporting characters alongside a few returning veterans than a bold new direction for the franchise.

Fake images claiming to show returning X-Men stars have also circulated online, fueling speculation about who will actually appear in the film. The most convincing shots, portraying Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and James Marsden in costume, were later confirmed to be AI-generated. Similar fabrications surfaced showing Robert Downey Jr. on set, adding to the confusion and noise around the production.
Any other verified leaks about the next Avengers film remain scarce. A short clip showing a rumored “Luke Cage House” set and a few wrap gifts featuring partial designs of characters are the only confirmed glimpses so far. As production continues into early 2026, more reliable details may surface, though much of the current chatter appears to be driven by speculation rather than substance.
Interest now turns to whether the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will manage to reignite enthusiasm for a franchise that has struggled to maintain momentum since its peak years. The MCU’s track record has been uneven, with hits like Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: No Way Home offset by box office disappointments such as The Marvels and Captain America: Brave New World. For now, this line-up of heroes feels less like Marvel’s legendary “A-Team” and more like a cautious attempt to keep the brand moving forward in uncertain territory.
I for one am not that hyped about this movie. How about you? Let me know in the comments.
