A key Iron Man storyline gets a new title ahead of the release of Avengers: Doomsday.

Per Bleeding Cool, Marvel Comics has added a new subtitle to the collected edition of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Alex Maleev's Infamous Iron Man. The full title for the new paperback collected edition, which includes all 12 issues of the original run, now reads as Infamous Iron Man: The Rise of Doom.

Previously, the Infamous Iron Man series was only available in two separate volumes, the first of which has skyrocketed in price in recent months. Currently, pristine copies of the first six-issue paperback collection of Infamous Iron Man stories are selling for upwards of $70 on sites like Amazon, while the second volume goes for around $30. The upcoming Infamous Iron Man: The Rise of Doom reprint, set to be released on July 14, 2026, is currently available for pre-order for around $20.

The official synopsis for Infamous Iron Man: The Rise of Doom from Marvel Comics reads, "The Marvel Universe's greatest villain is no stranger to armor, but now he's trying something new on for size: heroism. And where Tony Stark failed, Doom will succeed. But what is Victor's master plan? That's what a great number of folks want to know — including Ben Grimm, Pepper Potts and the other Iron Man: Riri Williams!"

"In his heroic quest, Doom faces a cosmic-level adversary — and his most mortal enemy, whom he thought he would never see again! But what is the shocking truth behind Victor's reincarnated mother? With enemies on all sides, how can Victor continue to carry on the legacy of Iron Man when the legacy of Doom haunts him at every turn?"

Infamous Iron Man kicked off in 2016, and saw Doctor Doom step into Tony Stark's shoes as the titular hero of the series. Following the events of 2015's Secret Wars and Tony Stark's tragic demise in Civil War II, Doom found an entirely new resolve to maintain Iron Man's legacy. To that end, Doom took up the mantle of Iron Man and set out on a heroic crusade to both keep Tony's name alive and redeem his own.

Unsurprisingly, Doom ultimately fell back into villainy not long after Tony's resurrection and being dealt a grievous wound at the hands of the Hood. With the original Iron Man back in action, his old scars replaced with new ones, and the realization that the world at large was quick to overlook his heroic actions, Doom returned to his former role as the scheming Latverian dictator readers know best.

While the Doctor Doom of Marvel Comics previously enjoyed a short-lived career as a superhero, he is currently nowhere to be seen now that his reign over Earth itself has come to an end with the shocking conclusion of One World Under Doom. As such, fans are eagerly awaiting the emergence of the heir to Doom's legacy, which might just come in Dungeons of Doom next year.

Written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy and featuring a critically acclaimed team of artists including Carlos Magno, Robert Gill, Justin Mason, and Georges Jeanty, Dungeons of Doom will drop various characters into a whole new world of horror as they take part in the race to claim whatever impossible power lies in wait within the walls of Doctor Doom's now empty castle.

Infamous Iron Man: The Rise of Doom is currently slated to arrive in stores on Jul. 14, 2026.
