Godzilla is about to take on the entire Marvel Multiverse, and one of the deadliest villains of all time is leading a new team of Avengers to save it.
Godzilla's latest rampage across the Marvel Universe has officially come to an end, though not in the way that the likes of Earth's Mightiest Heroes had hoped. In fact, the towering kaiju and its new ally, Knull, have effectively cemented their reign over the entire world, forcing Doctor Doom to lead an unlikely team of heroes on a quest across untold realities before time runs out in Marvel Comics' Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse.

Spun out from the events of the recently concluded Godzilla: Infinity Roar by writer Gerry Duggan and artist Javier Garrón, the upcoming Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse limited series will continue the all-star creative team's sprawling story in truly epic fashion. Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse #1 will pick up right where the final issue of the previous series left off, with Doctor Doom set to lead his crack team of heroes on a quest across the Multiverse in search of a power capable of stopping Godzilla and Knull's conquest.

Image via Marvel ComicsThe official solicit synopsis for Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "An unholy alliance between Knull and Godzilla conquers Universe 616 — and now Doom, Spider-Man, Kang, Emma Frost, Ghost Rider, The Punisher, Man-Thing and more stand on the edge of annihilation!"
The solicit text continues, "When Doomstadt rips across dimensions to capture a kaiju capable of stopping the King of the Monsters, the team collides with mecha fiends, multiversal kaiju, and a deadly Red Skull in Adamantium armor. But as universes burn, an unexpected ally may hold the key to survival. A bombastic, continuity-shaking launch that shreds the Multiverse in true KAIJU-CRUSHING FASHION!"
Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse will presumably mark the beginning of the end for Duggan and Garrón's epic overarching narrative, which has been unfolding since the release of Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe #1 last year. The earlier series saw Godzilla awakened from his ancient slumber by an unwitting Mole Man, whose experiments with a particularly potent form of Vibranium drew the kaiju to the surface and sent him off on a rampage unlike any fans had seen before.
Ahead of the release of Godzilla: Infinity Roar, Duggan offered a tongue-in-cheek take on the series and the Multiversal storyline it would kick off, stating that "Most movie stars are a giant pain in the a--, but not Godzilla, who has been a privilege and a joy to collaborate with, and the fun will continue in outer space. And I can say the ideas that are in the mix now are going to make this the biggest, craziest, and most dangerous Godzilla crossover ever. The Marvel Universe has never been in more peril! See you in space."
Godzilla Conquers the Multiverse #1 from Marvel Comics goes on sale on July 22.
