Dynamite Entertainment has been bringing the Winchester Brothers back with all-new stories in a fun new ongoing Supernatural series written by Greg Pak (and mostly drawn by Eder Messias). The series is set during the first season of the iconic (extremely long-running) TV series, back when Dean and Sam Winchester were still mostly doing "monster of the week" stories.

Now, Dynamite is releasing a special Supernatural: Valentine's Day Special by a special fill-in creative team of writer Preeti Chhibber and artist Pasquale Qualano, and CBR has a preview of the story, which will be in comic book stores tomorrow!

SUPERNATURAL VALENTINE'S DAY SPECIAL 2026 #1

LOVE IS STRONGER THAN DEATH — AND JUST AS TERRIFYING!

Sam and Dean Winchester know a thing or two about love and loss. But just because something is understandable doesn't make it advisable — and it certainly doesn't make it safe! Trying to command a minor minion of the underworld has resulted in the summoning of an ancient and uncontrollable goddess of desire. The rampage that ensues embodies the true power of love — and only Sam and Dean can stop it!

In the preview pages, we see Dean and Sam see a notice in the local newspaper while in West Virginia about a woman who was killed by a mysterious animal. As the brothers note, any time the wounds are described as "strange" and the newspapers don't seem to know WHAT animal did the killing, it is something that makes their radar go off in a big way. They then throw the paper out, not noticing the additional headline that notes that the town is also going through a strange lack of...love?!

Sure enough, just in the short period that the Winchester brothers are in town, they witness not one but two breakups. They use their "Special Agents" fake IDs to get access to the dead body, which appears to have been burned AND bitten to death.

They go to a local diner to use their dad's journal (it is notable that the comic book series is set AFTER the brothers gained access to their dad's journal) to research what kind of demonic creature would fit into a "hot mouth" category.

The woman at the diner is clearly listening to their conversation, and when they go to leave, she follows, and as the preview ends, she is about to make contact with the Winchesters. Could she be there to HELP them, or to HARM then? You'll have to pick up a copy of Supernatural: Valentine's Day Special #1 tomorrow to find out!
