Weapon X: First Class #1-3 (2009)

X-Men First Class was a delightful, all-ages book that explored the early years of the X-Men.  It made long-time readers feel nostalgic and warm inside.  For new readers, it offered a modernized glimpse into the Golden Age.

Then came Wolverine First Class, which was at attempt to make Kitty and Logan comics for young readers.  It wasn’t as interesting and didn’t have all the great Easter Eggs of XMFC.

Now, we get a book that misses entirely the point of the “First Class” world of books.

It’s just about Professor X trying to help Logan, back in the character’s earlier days, recover his own memories and past.  He helps Wolverine unlock a few memories of Weapon X, so Logan goes back to his old stomping grounds and confronts Department K, Team X, and Deadpool.  There’s also backups featuring Sabretooth and (ugh) Gambit.

    There is nothing good here.
