Hasbro has revealed a high-end collectible tied to the upcoming film Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu, set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. The company’s new Ultimate Grogu animatronic is priced at $599.99 and is already drawing strong demand from fans and collectors.
The life-size figure stands about 14.6 inches tall and weighs close to nine pounds. Hasbro worked with Disney and Lucasfilm to match the on-set prop used in the film. The result is a detailed replica with soft skin, rooted hair, a fabric robe, and armor elements that reflect the character’s on-screen look.
This is not a basic display piece. The animatronic includes more than 250 movements and sounds developed with Skywalker Sound. Internal motors and sensors allow the figure to react to its surroundings with head turns, blinking eyes, ear movement, and small steps. It also features arm motions designed to mimic Force use. Owners can switch between interactive modes that let the figure move on its own, travel easily, or cycle through display poses.

Preorders opened April 30, 2026, just ahead of the May the Fourth sales window. Hasbro offered a First Edition version with special packaging and a collector card. That version sold out on Hasbro Pulse within about 24 hours. Reports from multiple outlets confirmed the fast sellout, with buyers rushing to Amazon and other retailers to secure remaining stock.
The speed of the sellout points to strong demand for premium collectibles tied to major franchises. Grogu remains one of the most popular characters from The Mandalorian, and Hasbro leaned into that appeal with a product aimed at serious buyers rather than casual fans. The price places it closer to specialty collector items than traditional toys.

Shipping timelines reflect the product’s complexity. First Edition orders are expected to arrive by the end of 2026. Standard Edition units are set for early 2027 and are still available through several retailers as of early May. That gives late buyers a chance to get in, though supply could tighten as the film’s release approaches.
The launch highlights a broader trend in entertainment merchandising. Companies are pushing higher-priced, highly detailed products as fans show they are willing to spend more for screen-accurate items. As Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu heads toward its Memorial Day release, Hasbro appears to have found a profitable way to extend the brand beyond theaters and into homes.
